The site is listed on the Indigenous Heritage Database. The indigenous people native to the area once camped on the south-eastern portion of the site, which is proposed to be brought back to life with a re-enactment of a traditional campsite. Features would be incorporated into the landscape such as a curving Rainbow-Serpent path along the waterfront promenade, the establishment of a re-pit, and an exhibit of traditional tools, paraphernalia and huts relevant to the customs of the local tribe or tribes.
It will be a place for visitors and the community to congregate and hear of dreamtime stories and encounter a cultural indigenous experience in an authentic, natural setting. Sympathetically integrated multimedia systems featuring sound, visuals and lighting would take the visitor back through time to the original indigenous past, providing an authentic cultural experience.
